(3/28/09) The Chiang's invited us to their community Spring Eggstravaganza... and indeed it was an extravaganza. First Dylan took a picture with the Easter Bunny. We thought he would be scared of taking a picture with the Easter Bunny since he's never met the Easter Bunny and he's scared of Santa and ALL (except for Pooh) of the disney characters. BUT we were wrong (as you can see). He actaully got upset when he had to get off the Easter Bunny's lap. Afterwards we went to the cupcake decorating table. They had vanilla or chocolate cupcake to chose from. (Dylan chose vanilla.) They had four different colors of frosting (he chose green I'm surprised he didn't pick pink) and 20-30 different types of candy toppings (he chose runts, sprikles and chocolate egg, and then I stopped him he didn't need anymore sugar). They also had a refreshment table with water, punch and ice tea, table with easter tatoos and a table where you guess how many pieces of candy in different containers. After decorating and eating the yummy cupcake we went to the egg hunt age group 3 and under. There were A LOT of kids but also a lot of eggs.
Dylan got the concept of picking up the eggs and putting it in his bag. (we're ghetto we don't have an easter basket for him...but I think I'm going to pick one up for him since we're going to another egg hunt this weekend.) I was bummed I couldn't get great shots of him from the front. He did pretty well. He ended up with 20 eggs. Here are more pics from the event.
We had a lot of fun at this event! Thank you Chiangs for inviting us. Hopefully we will be invited again next year...hint hint. =)

I've been trying to potty train Dylan since he was about 20 months old. He pooped in the toilet off and on for about 2 weeks and then stopped. About 2 and half weeks ago, we were at the Hsu's and Dylan saw Jacob go potty on the toilet. I try not to compare him with other kids (so hard not to) but the following day I asked Dylan if he wanted to go potty like Jacob. He said yes! So I took him to the toilet and he went potty! We were all so excited. Dylan even said, "I went potty like Jacob". For the next couple days I was asking him if he wanted to go potty like Jacob and that seemed to work to get him to the bathroom. He was still not consistent and I couldn't quite get it down. I talked to my friend Ellen and she told me she was taking her son every hour. So I started doing that the 2nd week. That has been a sucess. He's had dry diapers most of the time except for nap times and in the mornings. This past Saturday he had a dry diaper ALL day! I was so proud of him. I thought running errands with him would prevent the potty training, but he's been going potty in the public bathrooms too! Couple days ago, he started to initiate it and tells us he has to go poop (even though it's pee, he calls it poop). I even put him in big boy underwear but the pullups seem to be more successful. Now the only thing is I can't seem to get him to poop in the toilet. It's either been in his pull-up, big boy underwear or on the floor next to the toilet (yes that was lovely!). He tells us he has to poop but by the time we go to the bathroom he has already done his business. If anyone has any tips for me please share!
Here is a picture that Tommy wanted me to take of the lil guy in this particular outfit and of course the HAM that Dylan is didn't have any problems posing for the camera. (I was trying to change him into his PJs and of course he was running away from me. But the minute he saw the camera he stopped and posed..LOL..enjoy and hope you get a good laugh...plus this is the only pic I have of him in his pull-up!) By the way I love baby legs! Thanks jenni for introducing it to me. =)

Kasumi had an conference out here in OC so we met up with her for dinner. It was so nice catching up with her since it's been quite a few months since we have hung out.
The restaurant was on the way home for Tommy he met us at there. Most moms know how tough it is to eat a meal and have an adult conversation with a 2 year old sitting next to you. So once the boys were done eating Tommy took Dylan home.
So about an hour later, Kasumi and I get home. Our garage light went out so I asked Tommy to replace it. Once Tommy went into the garage Dylan starts saying "vitamin mama". He always reminds me about giving him his vitamins. So I say "that's right, your vitamin." I give him his usual 1tsp of liquid vitamin and 1 gummy vitamin. He likes sucking on the gummy vitamins forever!
Tommy comes back from the garage. He sits down with him on the couch. He asks Dylan, "what are you eating?" Dylan says, "vitamin". Tommy then says, "I already gave you a vitamin."
So Tommy tells me that the minute they get home Dylan asked for his vitamins, so he gave it to him. We were like great, he milked us, and he's only 2. What are we in store for withthis lil guy...

My aunt (mom's sister) from Japan was visiting the US for the 1st time. She was here for 3 weeks. It was the first time she has left the country so she was nervous but excited at the same time. It was great to see her since it has been over 15 years since I've seen her. During her visit we went to Disneyland and took a mini vacation to Northern California. Originally It was just going to be my mom, my aunt, Dylan and myself but Tommy decided to join us on our road trip. =)
Here are some more pictures from Disneyland.

Dylan fell in love with my aunt and of course my aunt fell in love with him. It's been a week since she's left and he still talks about her. He asks where she is and I say she went back to Japan or she's in Japan and Dylan responds, I go to Japan. It's so sweet. One day we want to take Dylan to Japan.
Here are some picture comparisons from our last trip up there...mama and papa do not look much different but the lil guy does. =)
I wanted to re-take the pic in front of Monterey Bay since I recalled taking it on our first trip up there but the pic in front of the train is a total coincidence. I forgot we took one on our previous trip.
It was great spending quality time with my aunt. Here are some pictures from our mini vacation(2/23-2/26).

So I'm at my in-laws and I went to go use the bathroom. Of course the lil guy followed me and he starts knocking on the door. I never played this game with him but I thought I give it a try to see how he responds.
D: he says, "Knock knock" (while knocking on the door)
me: "Who's there?"
D: "Tai Tai" (he calls himself tai tai short for Taiki his middle name)
me: I ask, "Tai Tai who?"
D: he answers, "Tai Tai baby"
I thought it was cutest thing. These are some of the few things he is saying these days. He is talking so much and picks up words all the time. It's a very fun age!

I found myself 6 months behind on my posts and current updates on our family. I've been wanting to organize and post events chronologically but haven't made the time so I decided what the heck with it and just post things randomly...so for those who have been super loyal and checking our family blog, I promise you will see posts on a weekly basis. If your lucky you will see two posts a week. =) Of course I had to add a picture of our lil guy...not so little anymore. (2.19.09-One of our many trips to Disneyland. Waiting in line for the Winnie the Pooh ride. One of Dylan's favorite rides!)
