He's been home with me for about 6 weeks now and I have to admit it was an adjustment for the both of us at first, but now I'm enjoying my time with him. But we decided he needs interaction with other children and I need my time at home to job hunt. So on April 1 we enrolled him at Foothill Montessori.
Here he is ready to leave for 1st day of pre-school....he looks so happy.
Here he is with his lunch bag.
Here is he playing with a puzzle.
So we thought he was going to be okay with us leaving. He's been in daycare before but boy were we wrong. I was heartbroken to hear him crying asking me not to leave. They always say it's harder for the parents. After a week of him at school we have no more crying at drop off if anything we have crying/whining when picking him up. He doesn't want to go home. He loves it there now! As you can see in the picture I have to pack a lunch for him, which I'm not used to but the anal mom that I am I'm always thinking the night before what nutritious food I can make for him. His teacher were impressed how well and how much he eats. His lunch bag would come back empty 95% of the time so I thought the teachers were throwing away the left overs but they said they send home what ever he doesn't finish (which means he must like what I'm packing him or he's trading lunches with the other kids...)
He's been in school for 2 weeks now. He talks about his friend Joaquin and his teachers all the time. I'm so glad he has adjusted well and he enjoys going to school. Lets hope that lasts for another 16 years...
I am so glad Dylan adjusted well. I totally understand how you felt. Talissa cried for 2 weeks! It was misery!
You should do bento boxes. He'd have so much fun.
